Travel Sustainably on World Environment Day

What You Can Do to Travel Sustainably Holidays are great fun, but they can also leave more than a carbon footprint from air travel. Just like you, the Centre Point team cares about the environment and looks for ways to live more sustainably, like using less tissue and reusing bath towels to protect our forests and reduce water consumption. Did you know that our planet is 75% covered by water but we only have 2.5% of freshwater that we can drink yet we still use an average of 10 billion litres of freshwater each day? We all have a role to play in reducing energy and water consumption, so here are a few things you can do to travel more sustainably. And that doesn™t mean you won™t have a fantastic time on holiday either, it just means travelling conscientiously and thinking about the resources you™re using. You can also travel more sustainably when staying with Centre Point and exploring Bangkok, our ˜City of Angels™, starting by catching a high-speed train rather than a taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport into the city. You™ll save time and money too. As all Centre Point properties are located nearby BTS or Skytrain system, you can also get around Bangkok on the BTS and enjoy great views of the city, travel around the city™s waterways by boat, and when you travel to other exciting destinations around Thailand, catch a bus or train instead of flying. You™ll see so much more of our beautiful country along the way! Today (5 June)ย is World Environment Day 2015. This is the biggest day of the year to engage in positive environmental action and encourage worldwide awareness of the many environmental problems we and our planet face. The theme for World Environment Day this year is ˜Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care.™ The Centre Point team will be celebrating the day by doing our part to reduce consumption of water and energy and we hope that wherever in the world you are today, that you™ll be celebrating it with us.
