Fun Family Daytrips from Bangkok There are a wealth of family-friendly attractions on the outskirts of Bangkok. These include amusement parks with adrenaline-pumping rides and natural attractions where visitors can admire wildlife and natural landscapes. In this post, were going to take a closer look at four daytrip destinations near Bangkok that are ideal for the entire family.
- The Rose Garden
Also known as Suan Samphran, the Rose Garden comprises 75 acres of well-manicured gardens and a lovely lake. Its located some 30 km west of Bangkok and makes for a charming family retreat. Stroll through the gardens, admire the scenery and take in cultural shows and exhibitions. Younger guests enjoy the elephant shows, whilst Mum and Dad will appreciate the spa and on-site golf course.
Getting there
Arriving at the gardens requires driving west out of Bangkok on either the 4 (AH2) or 338. Its best to arrange a taxi from your hotel.
- Safari World and Marine Park
Take the family on a full-fledged safari adventure at this fun-filled attraction to the north-east of Bangkok. The main attraction is a drive-through safari experience, where you can either take your own vehicle or board a luxury coach for a tour with an English-speaking guide. Along the way youll see rhinos, zebras, giraffes, deer, bears and tropical birds “ all living in open environments that mimic their natural habitats. Side attractions in the park feature Bengal tigers and lions. Theres also a river safari tour and a marine park with walruses, crocodiles, giant fish and much more.
Getting there
The easiest way to get there is to charter a taxi from Bangkok. But you can also take bus number 26 from Victory Monument and disembark at Km 9 on Ram Indra Road, where a Safari World minibus will pick you up.
- Siam Park City
One of the largest theme parks in Thailand, Siam Park City features exciting rides and adventure activities. The main attraction here is a water park, which offers one of the best ways to beat the heat on a daytrip from Bangkok. Youll also find a roller coaster and a few other rides here.
Getting there
Its easiest to take a taxi from Bangkok. Follow Serithai Road. Head north out of the city on Motorway 9 and then exit at Siam Park Avenue and follow the signs.
- Dream World
This is one of the most popular amusement parks in Thailand, and it has some spectacular rides and attractions fit for the entire family. All of the classic amusement park rides are here: roller coasters, a swinging Viking ship, bumper cars, a haunted mansion and so much more. Theres also a line-up of shows on the schedule along with a few wet-and-wild rides.
