The third largest park in Bangkok is Lumphini park. There is a large lake in the middle of the park with paddle and rowing boats offered for rent. Lumphini park truly comes alive towards the evening as people head to the park for their evening exercise. There are bicycles to rent but the time period to actually ride them around the park is limited to 10am to 3pm. This is to avoid accidents in the evenings when the park is full of joggers. The park also offers fitness centers for just 40 baht a year. You can use the gym, basketball courts, football fields and even a swimming pool all located within the park.
The park also offers free aerobic classes which has a fitness instructor with a microphone and a loud speaker standing on a raised platform, which hundreds of people attend. The park is also home to many types of flora and fauna. Bird watchers can come to Lumphini, which is home to more than 30 species of birds which have made the park home. There are also large playgrounds and shay areas where you can sit and watch the children play or just read a book and relax in a green area in the middle of the concrete jungle. The national anthem plays at 6pm and the whole park comes to a sto, much like other contained public areas in Thailand.
